John O'Ds Review Of
Stockwell Athletic |
Location
|
Imperial
College Sports Ground on the A245 between Leatherhead and Cobham - 15
miles from Reigate. (Stockwell used to play
at Abbey Rec. South Wimbledon)
Stockwell pay £85 a match for the privilege of playing here!
|
|
Pavilion
 |
Modern
large building in the typical style of a University campus. Lots of glass
and space but little character. Upstairs is a balcony overlooking the pitch and a bar
selling Best Bitter @ £1.60 a pint - Jugs of Lager @ £8, Pool table, dart board. The staff live
on the premises. |
|
Changing Room
|
Reminded
me of one of those school changing rooms from a past decade Window
high up - you had to be 6ft plus to see out.
|
Showers
|
Showers,
passable, just, but little pressure. |
|
Tea |
Have
Stockwell been reading our website? Big improvement on the catering last
visit. Good
selection of sandwiches, tuna rolls, sausage rolls, salad, various cakes and
tea in China cups! |
|
Nearest Pub
 |
'The Old
Plough', Stoke D'Abernon (1/2 a mile from ground). Large garden popular
with families and an extensive menu. Good selection of beers including
Abbott and Imperial.

|

Graveney won by 10 wickets!

|
Record at
Stockwell

|
Won 2, Drawn

(This is a revived fixture and the results of all past games
are not available) |
|
Odd spot
 |
Well more like a 'bogey spot'.
Graveney ended their poor record on the last visit winning by 10
wickets(!) - First win of 2003! |
