John O'Ds Review Of Turners Hill (W.Sussex)

Location

Major's Hill opposite Tully Farm. Concealed entrance past church. 5 minutes away from 'The Crown' pub. Church Road off the B2110. 15 miles from Reigate Hill.

(Turners Hill have played Cricket for 100 years but this is their 3rd ground.)

Pavilion

Built in the last 10 years with assistance of a mid-Sussex Council grant. Set in a large ground (5 acres)-The Paddock-Hurst estate. Nice view of the North Downs. No bar though!

Changing Room

One of those strange doors that folds down the middle. Plenty of chairs, some broken but not by us!

Showers

Shared with home team. Push button style - Hot - Large spider in corner!

Tea

Sandwiches. Plenty of cheese, enough for second helpings.

Nearest Pub

The Crown - Very popular in centre of Turners Hill on a busy road junction. B2110. Potential accident black spot.

5th May 2007

Turners Hill : 174 for 6 (J.Skidmore 2-25, Jay Vibert 2-48)

Match Lost by 4 wickets

Record at Oakwood Hill

Odd spot

The Hot tap in the gents toilet which would not turn off! As the flow became more intense and with a possible flood about to happen whilst out guests were out fielding at the time, John O'D was forced to turn the water off at the stop-cock! (We did inform Turners Hill after the game - in case they are reading this and are wondering why the showers are no longer working!)
