Graveney 191 - 6 (from 40 overs)

Holly Bush Tavern 92 all out (from 21.4 overs)

Graveney Win by 99 runs

Graveney chalked up their 4th win in a row with an emphatic 99 run victory over Holly Bush Tavern at Forest Green. Forest Green cricket club is an old Graveney fixture last game played there August `97. Now Forest Green only play Sunday games and lease the ground out to other sides.

Graveney have never played the Holly Bush Tavern before arrived at the ground with 10 players, Howard deciding to carry on travelling down the A29 to Bognor Regis! The team wonder how Howard ever finds drivers with his puncture repair service!!

An `arranged toss` saw Graveney bat first in a 40 overs game and slump to 17-3 after 8 overs. Then a 96 run partnership between Paul Fanning (56) and Jez Skidmore (36) took the score to 113. Most of Graveney`s  wickets fell to some impatient batting with all six wickets going to catches.

The moment of the game came with the entrance of bigger Tim Eveleigh batting at no.7. The `big fellow` scoring a first ever 50 inc. 2 sixes and seven 4`s, sharing a 64 run partnership for the 7th wicket with Dave Moody (13 n.o.) to take the `Green Caps ` to a final score of 191-6 wkts.

Holly Bush Tavern approached the Graveney score with the attitude of slogging almost every ball out of the small ground.

They were soon in trouble at 30-4. Bev McGill took the bowling honours (3-12) following a poor opening over that went for 9 runs, he changed ends with immediate effect

.

Jay Vibert (2-33) and `Bear` Jeffels (2-33)  chalked up wickets as 10 men Holly Bush Tavern were bowled out for 92 in 21.4 overs.

Our opponents did not hang around once they were out-getting changed- they said goodbye leaving Graveney to drink by themselves.

Man of the match:  Tim Eveleigh for his maiden 50.

Champagne moment:  Tim Eveleigh at 40 not out shouting to his team-mates 'What shall I do?'..'er score some more runs?'

Moment of disgrace:  Nick Goodburn dropping out on Friday as he had to attend a BBQ, the next day, or so says Mrs G.
